Morons at the gym (the official thread)...

Today some guy was benching in the squat rack. No rack lockouts or anything, no pins, just straight benching. I look over and there's like 2 free benches. Anyway, when he was done he just walked away and left the bench in there with the 185 still on the bar down at waist level. So I walk over to him and I go 'You done with the squat rack?' and he responded all flabbergasted with 'bu bu bu yuh I'm done'

Then while I was squatting 2 guys were doing flat db press with like 40's and the spotter stands over his pal getting read to start his set and yells 'CMON GET PISSED OFF'

i noticed something funny at the gym today. i was doin overhead shoulder presses with 525 and as i was on my 11th rep i looked over and saw a clown hovering over our beloved sandbox.

I do 60 on standing bb curls and I make sure my form is tight. Who wants to get hurt and be out a couple weeks b/c of something stupid like that. I just look at some of the guys go in and get a bb loaded and horrible form. Dummy dummy dummies!!! I personally would rather go lighter and have good form than go heavy and injure myself.
I agree with that... but at the same time you have people who go so light and don't try and stress the muscle at all for fear of injury.
Nothing really funny yet at the gym this week. Accept some guy doing oblique crunches with a 45 bar and 10 pounds on it. I have no idea what he was doing because he was pulling on his neck and I guess he plans on screwing it up. Maybe I should go drop off one of my business cards and tell him when his neck locks up to call me for a massage to undue his ignorance.

In general, the vast majority of personal trainers...like the Bally's type of personal trainers lick sweaty alls when it comes to training knowledge. I used to enjoy watching them between sets. One fat trainer used to tie straps to people and all kinds of crazy shit.....the people used to never come back. I figured they either got injured or realized what a moron this guy was.

True I see peeps like that all the time!!!!!!

Put out fliers he may call you when the dumb ass hurts himself. LOL

Is it possible that sometimes the moron at the gym is employed by the gym?

Case in point: A trainer told me this evening "a woman of my age" couldn't acheive the goals because they weren't realistic and basically I should have started "earlier in life."

I'm 39. 5'4" 158lbs. Sz 10 it's not like I had to roll thru the door!

An alarmingly high percentage of morons are gym employees and "trainers".
