MediterrAsian Diet

Hello!
I subscribe to FittnessRX magazine and was wondering if any one has heard of this diet and/or has had any luck with it?

The gist of the diet is:
6-8 servings of seafood, lean meats or soy a day
3-5 servings veggies
1-3 servings fruit
1-2 servings grains/cereal
1-2 servings added fats and oils

I just got back from Mexico :mexican: and gotta get back into training mode!

Cool avatar!

I haven't seen that diet before. I just wonder - what is Mediterranean or Asian about it?

Thanks for the avatar comment!

To sum up the article, the MediterrAsian diet claims to be a high protein/low carb diet that can lead to permanent fat loss, maximum energy and good health. Apparently you will feel different within the first 2 weeks. Your body will begin to de-age. The certain types of foods (high concentration of phytonutrients and muscle-building amino acids)can help reduce cholesterol, improve your blood, skin, reduce risk of diseases and cancers.

To me it sounds like any other low carb/high protein diet. You are just eating more specific foods: seafood, soy, legumes and friendly fats.

I think I will give it a try......after Thanksgiving:p

Actually that sounds almost exactly like the diets most of us here follow!

Except I usually had more like 3 servings of grain (oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potato) & one serving of fruit. Seafood was eaten once a day, but technically 2.5 servings (one can of tuna is 2.5 servings according to the can), I ate turkey, chicken, egg whites & soy milk with whey powder, olive oil & peanut butter + occasional other nuts for healthy fats. All typical for a fitness diet.

Pretty much basic clean diet with protein that's significantly higher than RDA - but not really low carb (not keto).

Yup, it sounds exactly the same to me. The claims it makes aren't ridiculous, but there's nothing inherently magical about it that a clean diet won't do. It's all in the marketing.

Oh, and welcome to the board.

That is kind of what I thought, it is all just clean eating....which I haven't been doing. That is what I hate about vacations and holidays. So what do I do, go on vacation right before the holidays!:-B

There is so much great stuff on these boards!!
