Looking for a nice used car.

I'll have to agree with Arabian; while german cars are indeed reliable, the maintenance costs once things do go wrong (inevitably) are sky high. You're definitely better off with a honda, toyota or mazda i.m.o.

Trying to keep it under $15K. Looking at Audi (4 series), Mercedes (entry C class), and BMW (3 series). Also considering Cadillac CTS.

Any input or personal experience would be appreciated. This will not be my primary car, but I still want a hassle free, low maintenence vehicle. Like to keep the miles under $50K.

Any other suggestions welcome.

sounds like you're trying to be a baller on a budget. I'd recommend that you stay away from every single car you listed. Not to say they're not good cars, but they're definetly not low maintenence and are expensive to repair.

Here are some good reliable cars that get good mileage and are in your price range.

Toyota Corolla
Honda Civic
Honda Accord
Nissan Altima
Chevy Malibu
Ford Fusion
Hyundai Sonata
Kia Optima

There are a shit ton of decent cars you can get for 15k and most will have relatively low miles. I'd be inclined to lean towards the Hyundai Sonata as you can pick one up with typically under 20k miles and still have 40k miles of bumper-bumper warranty left.

lol, Subaru's are hand built and the company only builds 250 thousand of them a year. It is undoubtable the most dependable vehicle ever. I cant stand the design however they are bullet proof.

bullshit...subarus aren't hand built. They use robotics in assembly just like every other major car manufacturer.

oh im not sayin its not reliable...keep up on the oil and the timing belt intervals and youre in great shape...plus they were switching over to a timing chain for this model yr too I believe...so one less problem even

this one has a 190k on it and really truly drives like new...I just hate its cheapness...lol
who in the hell puts cup holders in front of the effin controls on the dash!!!
I really didn't expect to hate the car like I do

that said...my bmw needs its door panels put back together twice a yr...lolol..
I think people think european cars are way more expensive to maintain because they butt raped at the dealership...most european cars are actually really easy to work on and the parts prices are about the same unless youre talking about an electronic component

the last post I saw tho...screw a mazda...throw a grenade in the thing
honda and toyota are pretty solid tho, for reliability

a malibu?/ really mitch....did they get their dexcool intake issues sorted out??
I don't know shit about the kia...but every other car on that list I'd agree with

out of that list the fushion has nice styling too

for 15k theyd all have really low mileage too

the new malibu intakes are fine. I'm not talking about a malibu classic.

the 3.5 or 3.6l v6 (depending on which trim level you get) so far have been excellent motors. The only real problem with the new malibu is the intermidiate steering shaft. For some reason at around 20-30k miles you need to relube them otherwise you get a lil "clunk" in the steering wheel. It's an easy fix you can do yourself and even if you have to replace it it's under $100.

like I said, you have a lot of choices in the 15k range. Just depends on the options you want and the styling. Really need more information to give you a good recomendation as to what car will best fit your wants/needs.

they still make an impala?? been a while since Ive looked at american cars

only one I've considered in the last couple of years was the fushion when we had a loaded one for a rental. I was surpised I liked a ford.

yeah, they still make the impala. Matter of fact I got a '10 with 6k miles i'd let go for 15,500 right now.

Yeah, I also have a fully loaded '10 Fusion and it's a pretty badass car. A lot more comfortable than the previous body style (the seats are softer and seem to fit better) and it rides a little smoother imo. Seemed like the older ones were a lil too stiff.
