Emergency - Liver specialist (of sorts) please help !!!

Having a rough time right now with my sister. She has a liver condition that the hospital is unsure about as yet. Biopsies being taken tommorow.

I would like to know your honest reaction with regard to her current blood test results. Don't be afraid to say what you think. No bullshit please.

Not sure of the units being used,

C-reactive protien - 25
Should be - 0 - 7.5

Billirubin - 207
Should be 0 - 20

Albumin - 31
Should be 35 - 91

Alchaline Phosphate - 184
Should be 35 - 91

Platelets - 535
Should be 150 - 400

ALT - 1777
Should be 7 - 35

Obviously no AAS use involved, but would like to know how bad this really is.

Regards

Doug

Those ALT are through the roof.
Those are usually seen with Hepatitis infection.
As far as her C-reactive, its also very high.....usually in various infections (viral, bacterial), MI, cancer they will be up there.....CRP is a marker and indicator of inflamation.

What are her general symptoms and how long have they been present?

Good she's in a hospital, there is DEFF something going on in the liver.
Drugs would vary rarely cause levels that high, unless taking liver stressers for a long time.

Can’t really comment on her values or numbers, just know that about 2 years ago, my liver was also really stressed the MD freaked, long story short, did not do to much and recovered just fine.

Thanks for the support guys. I appreciate the input. I'm sorry for hijacking the forum as such with a concern not involving AAS, but lets face it, we are all banging on about our livers so, I thought it would be logical to bring it up.

She had an ultra-sound today, results were inconclusive although they do know it is to do with her inner liver ducts blocking. Biopsies scheduled for next week.

The NHS used to be so good, but it has been abused for so many years by the EU. Its hard enough looking after the UK, let alone the rest of Europe or anyone else that fancies a free ride for that matter !

Regards

The high ALK PHOS freaks me out as it can be an indicator of a cancer somewhere. Overall it looks like a hepatitus a lot though. Does she drink and I mean like a fifth a day? This is pretty serious.1777 ALT is like WOW! The 207 bilirubin too! Is she jaundiced? I would tyhink she would have to be.
