Sales tax-based system. It will defeat the whole purpose of working underground. Everyone buy goods. No exception. So no matter if you're Mr. Fajita working with a fake ID at Wendy's or some stripper, in both cases you end up paying taxes. But that will never happen cause is just too good....

i would prefer a higher sales tax or state tax coupled with lower property tax. why should i be penalized for owning a home. we all use the same school, emergency and city services. i believe in paying some property tax but its getting out of hand.

i have no problem with people wanting to come here and work either but we cant overlaod the system and keep taxing the way we are.

No, a sales tax based system puts all the burden on lower and middle classes, because the wealthy only spend a very small percentage of their wealth on consumables.

in australia we have what is called a Goods and Services Tax (of 10%) that is payable by all businesses as well as individuals, with exemptions on basic food items eg milk bread vegetables peanuts, but not 'luxury' items eg roasted peanuts. i think it was a good idea because it also taxes teh black economy ie even drug dealers buy cars, houses, airfares etc

imo the major issue with illegal immigration in the US is the quality of the immigrants youre getting (poor english, vaccination history, education) who, once assimilated, are on an equal footing with regular american citizens, which imo is unfair because the US was founded and built by (for the most part) the ancestors of current US citizens, and this national infrastructure is basically being usurped by the illegals. basically theyre eroding the quality of your nation.

what i find ugly about this concept is that there are so many shortsighted americans willing to sell a chunk of their nation to a bunch of illegals so that they get their house painted on the cheap. its false economy, and a great shame.

imo it is in the USs interest to maintain a smaller, more technical workforce, and outsource dumb labour to other countries. bringing in a bunch of illegals to wipe your collective butts costs more than its worth, imo.

think about this.

Look at the 50' high concrete wall that the Ireali's, or Pakistani's, whoever, is/was putting up!! If that poor ass country can put up a 50' wall, then we shurely can. That would keep them out for shure.

I still like my idea better. If anyone crosses the border illegally, shoot them right there and put their body on the border line. Leave it as a reminder as to what happens when you cross. -----I don't remember what county used to do that, but it worked.

All we need to do is start punishing businesses that hire illegal immigrants. Make business owners pay a hefty fine for each illegal worker found working for them and make them cover the cost of deporting them.

First I heard on the news that the US is using some former Soviet gulags in Eastern Europe to detain suspects so we can quietly have third parties "rough 'em up". Now this. Maybe Germany has some surplus East German goodies from the good old days like the auto-sensing machine guns, mines, and cinder blocks we could pick up cheap.

I actually don't have much problem with either policy, but the symbolism is bothersome. Who looks like the Evil Empire now?
