Some of you guys are nuts. Kobe and Shaq are the two most valuable players in the league. Without them, Lakers would be .500 at best.

LA started 3-10 without Shaq. Forget those games and they are near a #1 seed.
Anyway, it's pretty clear that LAL is the most talented team, still. Whether or not they live up to that, I can't tell you.

Without Kobe and Shaq the lakers don't even get a sniff of .500. Without those two cats that team without a major upgrade woutl lose at least 50 games.
This year Shaq is not and should not have been considered for most valuable player. If for no other reason than waiting to get the surgery on his foot (or toe?) and missing the beginning of the season healing up. Then being fat and out of shape does not make for an mvp year. Kobe, yes, dude is a baller. But, if Shaq doesn' t start conditioning in the offseason, his best years are clearly behind him.
