As soon as Horry shot that ball I was yelling "Horry, Horry" just like last year. Unfortuantely, the ball somehow popped out. The shot was in! I think those damn Spurs put an invisible lid on the basket. That's the only explanation for how that shot popped out.

The Spurs are actually better than the Lakers this year. In order for the Lakers to win any games Kobe has to have an Iverson like game. The Spurs can win even if their superstar (Duncan) has a less than average game. The Laker dynasty is over in my opinion. Who knows what the Lakers will be like next year when Kobe leaves and they deal with Shaq's ever increasing weight problem.

Mark Madsen is the best on the Laker squad. Who cares if he can't score, he beats the shit out of people. Watch some of his fouls and watch him chase down a loose ball. It takes skill to pick up 4 fouls in 3 minutes. I'd hate to be in his way on a loose ball. He'll get the ball or kill anyone in his way. Go white boy!, go white boy....

Actually, there wasa game last year in the playoffs (I think against the kings) where Shaq had fouled out. It went to overtime. Kobe would bring the ball up court, and the entire Kings team knew he was going to shoot, and he still ored like 11 points in the overtime period.
it was the kind of playoff performance only Jordan could deliver.

Kobe is an incredible talent and player. In my opinion and just looking at inidividuals, Tracy McGrady and Kevin Garnett are the two best players in the game. I'm looking forward to see what Kobe can do without Shaquille O'Neal on a regular basis and to see what he does over the course of his career. What is Kobe, 23? Maybe 24? Dude isn't even to his prime, but, neither is McGrady

I have watched basketball almost all of my early life, and Kobe is probably the best player I have ever seen. He has the most complete game I have ever seen. He is absolutely clutch. He can shoot, he can drive, he can dunk, he plays great defense. No other player in the NBA right now is anywhere near his level. There is just an obsession with big men in the NBA right now. They are great players, but Kobe is on another level.

Without Kobe and Shaq the lakers don't even get a sniff of .500. Without those two cats that team without a major upgrade woutl lose at least 50 games.
This year Shaq is not and should not have been considered for most valuable player. If for no other reason than waiting to get the surgery on his foot (or toe?) and missing the beginning of the season healing up. Then being fat and out of shape does not make for an mvp year. Kobe, yes, dude is a baller. But, if Shaq doesn' t start conditioning in the offseason, his best years are clearly behind him.

What's this shit about the Lakers not being any good without Kobe and Shaq? What would happen to any NBA team if you took away their two top players? Dallas without Nowitzki and Nash? Sacramento without Webber and Divac? We saw that last night when Divac fouled out. How about San Antonio without Duncan? You don't even need to take two away from them and they suck. Let's take Philly without Iverson, I don't think they'd see any playoff action there.
