Im am trying to get in Ketosis, I weigh 185 and i decided to go with 30 carbs, 219 protein, and 135 fat. My fat comes from flax, safflour and fish oil. i do that for 5 days then eat moderate carbs for 2 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!:confused:
 
Your protein intake is too high.

The first few days your breakup should be like 80-85% fat and 15-20% protein. Gradually lower it but keep it around 70% fat/30% protein.

You'll gain weight the way you have it.
 
psycho, would it be fat or muscle that I would gain?

20%protein and 80%fat would be like 197 fat and 111 protein. How can your body maintain muscle mass at that level.
 
You can't maintain muscle mass at those ratios. You DO lose muscle on the ketogenic diet. However, the CKD is designed to minimize the loss of muscle.

Duchaine said that if you tweaked the ratios and ate more protein the CKD could be easily changed into a bulking diet.
