It is important to note that you can only get these diseases if your partner has them.

If your partner had Shigella, Campylobacter, giardiasis, or entamoebiasis, it is likely that he/she will be exhibiting symptoms. Hepatitis A is also usually symptomatic, but can result in a short carrier period without symptoms. Hepatitis B and C both have prolonged carrier periods and can be infectious in asymptomatic individuals. Hepatitis C has not been shown to be definitively transmitted via sexual intercourse, although I think it's best to use protection as lack of evidence supporting it doesn't mean it's been definitively disproven.
