Joint Pain!

I have been training heavy for several years now (6-12 reps to failure). My elbows recently started to hurt very bad. It feels like my brachiallis (not sure of the spelling) is ripping away from my fore arm. I was doing hammer curls when this onset occurred. I haven't done them since but they still hurt. I have cut out arms from my workouts for the last two weeks and they still hurt after I lift chest/shoulders and back. do you guys think I should take time off and then start back with light weights. (Even though it kills me ego, I know that rest is probably the best thing for it). It seems that every time I get to a certain point in my training I have something go wrong and then I have to take time off!

I hear you man. 2 years ago i hurt my wrist training and now on any type of curl or back movement my wrist kills me. When i rotate it i actually hear the ligament and bones snapping. I haven't gone to the doctor's yet but i plan to. They will probably tell me i need surgery to repair the ligament. You should probably do the same. Just get a second opinion from a professional.

I had the same thing and I also was doing hammer curls which effected the outside of both elbows. Tried to work thru the pain for a month and even though it wasn't real painful I decided to take a month of. I feels much better, but I can still feel a slight discomfort in both elbows. Probably needed 2 months to completely heal, but I will use light weights on the excersises that bother me most.
