Well, I seen this coming but not before the home opener. Luke McCowen was named our starter with Gabbert as his back up.

I guess they figured on a losing season anyway. Might as well cut some baggage and save some coin.

Great move for the team and it needed to happen. He stunk up the preseason and he would have been the starter if he could have thrown just one td. Just one. Mcown out played him again and why have your back up making 8 million? Plus I think this will help the transition to Gabbert easier to swallow as well. Unless Luke goes on a tear and we are undefeated Gabbert will prolly be starting by week 5. IMO. Go Jags.

terrible, classless move. del rio knows what garrard is. cut him earlier in camp if you don't want him. don't bring him around and announce him as the starter and then completely fuck him like that. now he's in a hard spot to even find a job at this point.

i keep hearing about it being a salary dump, but the jags are way under cap anyways. i thought with the new CBA that teams had to spend 90% of the cap?
