Issues lifting

Seemed to have lost good form somehow. After lifting a while and getting heavier, my form has gone downhill some. Still ok just not good anymore. Has this ever happened to anyone else? If i drop the weight and do more reps and work my way back up, will this fix it?

This just means you are lifting heavier than you should.. Always drop the ego at the gym and lift with good form and contract the muscles for growth. Lift in the higher rep range and focus more on contracting.

Ok thanks. I did it today. Was just curious. I was doing 6-8 reps. I dropped it and started doing 10-12. Much better

Most of my lifts I do 15 or more reps. It does wonders

See i was always told 6-8 was best but i gotta tell ya, the feeling i had after 12-15 in my muscles was 10x better than when i was doing 6-8. Even after 1 day. Its hard to actually describe the feeling but you know what im saying. And then had the shaky feeling after i was done! I love that! Lol

Yep higher reps stimulates more muscular hypertrophy. which is more size. I think its a huge myth that you must lift 6-8 reps for mass. Mass=size and hypertrophy=size. Just my 2 cents bro

Evan is right the whole you have to lift 6-8 reps is a myth, the optimal range is 5-12 reps for size, I have found it beneficial to hit a set of 5 a set of 8 a set of 11 and a set of 14 on my exercises

Today was chest day and I'll give you a layout of what i did.
Flat bench bb 1x10 3x12
Db incline 3x12
Decline bb 3x10
Flies (machine)3x12
Cable flies 3x10

Felt amazing!!!

Used to be
(In order)
4x6
3x8
4x6
3x8

Wasn't feeling it as much then.

No point in going heavy on Flyes- that's one of those exercises in which light weight is king because it keeps your joints safe and you get a better contraction.
I dont think u need 6 sets of Flyes btw. I'd drop one of the Flyes exercises and just keep it as a finisher type thing of 2-3 sets.

I completely agree. The quality of tissue from high rep lifting better than low rep. There is an old school bb'er that helps he told me it also has to do with increased blood flow to the muscles.
I do 12-20 rep sets.
