dont get discouraged yet. front desk people, have no clue. other trainers, have no clue. talk to the fitness manager. he is concerned with you working, training people, getting them results, and ultimately resign'ing. if you "fit the look" its good business for him as well. if he has trainers with bad attitudes, out of shape, etc, then he may be begging for trainers, but other trainers have no idea what the fitness manager's needs are. alot of times too, trainers dont want new trainers in the gym because it takes their business. dont be shocked that this job is cut throat.

ps...dont apply online, hand your application to the fitness manager himself and see about setting up an appt to talk "turkey" with him. the key is client retention, results, a well laid out program and accountability.

Thanks BN. I plan on calling up "Travis" ... well, if he's not in tomorrow, then I'll call him on Monday. I was supposed to talk to him when I went in, but front desk guy gave me the "card" with website on it... I think he was 18.

if anything i can find out who he is (FM) and see the real deal. (insider connection) hehehe. chances are he isnt there on the weekends. my FM isnt this weekend and normally its the floor supervisor who runs weekend. (lucky me...though i dont perform my "duties" to the fullest)

reason noone has heard about NESTA, is because they recognize only about 6 national certifications. NASM, NSCA, ACE, ISSA, IFPA, and some others.

forget getting info out of the front desk. they do homework, push retail, scan cards, period. i know a few who actually are customer service oriented, but most arent in the loop on policy or info anyways.

i'll give you a shout and we can figure it out.

peace.

Cool, I'm here all day.

Yeah, the front desk guy was a trip... 18 years old, my guess, and he was like "here, check out the website for employment and you can see if 24 Hour fitness is right for you! Well.. I mean, if it is a place you think you'll fit in... " -- I just looked at him and said thanks... didn't want to stir up any pots. Even though I talked to the trainer guy and he told me to talk to Travis and fill out a form. LOL

Ahh well... I'm around... I think I'll workout later on this evening.. something to look forward to on Saturdays.
