is subway a good meal?

I agree with TheCaptain, when I eat at Subway, I get a 6inch to eliminate all the carbs, but I ask for a double meat (usually turkey) which adds your protein. You get plenty of carbs from the 6inch.

Personally if I eat fast food, I go for Mr. Sub. Tastes better then subway, I don't know if Mr Sub is Canadian only but subway tastes like ass compared to Mr Sub plus you get 3x as much meat.

But it is very EFFECTIVE marketing, many people have bought into it. Actually, there are a lot worst places you could eat if you're in a hurry. I grab a sandwich there every once in a while with a diet pepsi. Turkey and Cheese. It makes a good post-workout meal when your body can use those carbs.

If you are stuck somewhere without food, then as far as fast food goes, Subway isn't bad. Stick with a 6 inch (all that bread could kill you) and go with the leanest meat you can. Usually turkey breast or lean ham. The chicken breast isn't bad either.

Double the meat and stick with just the basic veggies. Of course, no cheese or mayo. Just get the sandwich and a glass of water. Skip the baked chips and soft drinks and cookies.

Generally speaking you want to try to plan ahead so that you won't be stuck without food. Prepare meals in advance and you will never have any problems.

Its only good on Tuesdays, when they have the two for Tuesday. They have a few good choices of sandwiches. I like to get the roasted chicken breast and wholewheat bread. So I pay for a footlong and a large drink which comes out to $7 and get another footlong for free. That is the only day I will ever eat there. Usually once a month.

If you aren't just coming from a workout, you could always get their salads--they are pretty good, because they make them up with whatever fixings you want, but no bread. Remember that the turkey, ham or whatever is not real--compare a Thanksgiving turkey to a slice of the deli meat, it's like night and day.

I'd go for the chicken breast, which has been injected with chemicals as well, but seems at least a bit more realistic.
