Is my routine ok? 6' 1" 180lbs, want Mass

Take the creatine before. Yes, before. And it's okay to let it sit an hour. Creatine does tend to convert to creatinine (a useless chemical), but it takes upwards of a day for any significant conversion.

Ok, 5gm creatine before and 5gm immediately after workout.

I can definately do tuna sandwhiches post workout. Very easy to make and not too expensive. :) 1 can and 2 or 4 slices of white bread. Thanks gmanlax7, that's exactly what I wanted to know... what food's to eat. :)

Now, for reps... what should I shoot for? I average 3 workouts per muscle group, 3-4 sets per workout and WAS shooting for 10-12 sets. All i'm concerned with is muscle mass, not strength. How should I change my workout?

So a typical workout for me is alternating muscle groups.. 10 sets per group.

You`re concerned for mass but it GENERALLY comes with strength so lower the reps to AROUND 5 (give or take) AT LEAST for one multi-joint compound movement per bodypart and then you can up the reps for the other exercises if you want.

HEAVY BASIC movements for STRENGTH and MASS. I would`nt workout more than 4x a week. I would only do 3 but 4 is pushing it IMO LIFT AND REST AND EAT

Have you read NEEDSIZE 5x5 routine?

gonelifting, I'll lower the reps per your recomendation. I really LOVE my routine now. I love going to the gym and can't wait to go again. I hate taking days off but they are a must. Right now I work out 5 days a week, I would hate to drop that down. I'm always looking forward to going to the gym and working out.

I have read needsize 5x5 routine and it confuses me. I just need to keep things simple. I really do like working out 2 muscle groups a day as I feel I get more of a workout.. I feel more pumped and I feel i'm working out MORE.. if I only did 1 group a week I would hate to wait the 7 days till the next time . :(

DrBones, thanks.. I had a can of tuna today on 2 slices of bread.. Shoudl I switch to wheat for all my sandwhiches like PB&J and hamburgers? Why is wheat so much better than white?

Thanks guys, you're really helpig me clean up my routine.

Thanks guys.

I'll switch all my breads to wheat.

I also think I'll stick with the 2 muscle groups a day routine 3 days on 1 day off.. It just seems to be working well for me now. Perhaps not ideal but I can't justify changing it.

Another question I have is, how do I prevent myself from falling into a routine that goes nowhere. I remember reading a comment on here where one member stated that so many people in the gym lift to go nowhere, or have routines that will take them nowhere. How do I prevent this? What can I do to keep myself growing.

I really LOVE going to the gym. I took a friend over the weekend with me and taught him my routine and he LOVED it. He had a GREAT workout and really felt good afterward.

I want to continue to grow. I've definately made great improvents and I just don't want to keep improving.

Still looking for an answer on my prev question.

Another question I have is.. How can I get a bigger chest? I'd like more definition in the upper and middle part of it, to look fuller.
