I actually napped today. I feel like a slug - I am usually so active, there are a couple errands i need to run, but I need sleep more. It feels good to sleep, but I also want to go do things.

She slept in her crib for the first time last night - and I actually slept in a bed for the first time in 2 weeks ...ahhhhhh.... heaven.

We go back to the Pediatrician today, to see how she is doing, I am hoping she gained a TON of weight. :)

Not sure if I posted these pics ... but here are more of the cutie.

OMG...how cute. You are so lucky.

I like the little sea lion toy....lol

Oh wow, she is just gorgeous. So adorable. I think my time may just be coming soon. I sure hope so. I really appreciate all of your info and stories. I have to come back to this thread tomorrow and read it all.

Daisy - my biggest piece of advice during labor is to be flexible. Seriously, you have little control over the events, so know that thigns can change and that is okay. If you go in with a specific idea of what is going to happen, you will be stressed - because it is very likely it will not happen that way. You need to have your preferences and desires known, but also know that you need to do whatever will help you get through it.

Not sure if you are having an epidural - but if you are, do NOT be afraid to ask for it as soon as things become unbearable. Do not try to tough it out if you KNOW you want an epidural. That is what I did, and I spent a couple hours in intense horrible pain needlessly. I helpd out on getting the epi for some reason - even though I KNEW I wanted it eventually. Biggest mistake.

Also, I packed a TON oif stuff in my hospital bag. I used maybe 2% of it - mostly my toiletries. I did not use any of my clothes (well, 1 shirt when people came to visit) and no baby clothes. Your hospital may differ, but don't use your stuff unless you have to. And whatever they will let you take home, take it - don't even be afraid to ask for more things (i.e., more pads).

Good luck ... and ask me anything if you are wondering something! :)

I am just SO BAD at taking it easy! :(
I'm wagging my finger at you, do you see me wagging my finger at you?! Like Sassy said, you are not taking it easy. You are recovering. Your insides got stretched out to accomodate a small bowling ball, and then they were further stretched in the delivery. Trying to do much before the Relaxin leaves your body is self-defeatist (maybe that's why it takes so long to eliminate???) but you suddenly have an appreciation for how much of US is held together with ligaments ...

Nice easy walks with the baby, if the weather is nice, are great, it sounds like CaliGirl has some really good suggestions. Don't think of it as being lazy.

She is so damn cute! Makes me want another but not happening. :) I agree with the epidural thing, besides that it takes and hour for the anesthesiologist to get there!! I waited as well, only using statol at the time I asked for my epi by the time he got up there to do it I was dialated to 9.

I know its hard to lay down while she is sleeping but you really have to do it, you can do laundry while she is up, dont worry about small things like that, take YOUR time and use it on YOURSELF!! :velvett: With your parents coming in and his parents coming later, they will be able to help you with things around the house and with her. Let them do it, they are there to help you. That was my biggest mistake I am like you, in control of everything, so all our parents just sat there while I cooked, cleaned, dishes, laundry, breast fed, rocked, on and on. If I only knew then what I know now. haha :baby2:

Thank you to whomever made this thread a sticky! I haven't said much, but it's great 'seeing' the little one and knowing that everything's good!
