Interesting new thoughts on changing routines (frequency)

What do you guys think about this idea

"changing your workouts every few weeks does not prevent stagnation, it promotes it. By the third week on a program your muscles have just become co-ordinated with that exercise. Its after this point that real gains are made"

Its contradictory to many of the ideas of WSB training is it not? but it makes some sense.

That's an interesting idea, but where did you get that quote from?

I don't change my workouts at a set point. I will change it up when my body and mind tell me to. Usually 6-8 weeks.

I have heard of that quote before. its usually in relation to muscle mass gains. basically saying that your nervous system gets effiecient rapidly to the new exercise and the strength increase comes from that and after that initial period your body should promote more muscle growth to cope with the load.

I always keep something the same in my workouts. Usually 1 or 2 exercises don't change. The others change to keep me "supposedly shocked."

Interesting thought though.
