injection problem

got a buddy who injected in his delt last night,
turned purple and blotchy immediately, like a hard lump in there, all swollen and fucked up looking, he can hardly move it,
anyone know what this would be from, and what he should do, it was a cc of suspension

get his ass to a doctor b4 his arm falls off, or just gets nastier atleast because you dont want it to get really infected and perminantly fuck him up. the doc cant arrest him or anything

shit, my shoulder does that shit about 1 out of 3 times i inject there. i think what happens is i inject too close to a vein or something, and the pressure squeezes the vein shut, possibly making it rupture. either that, or it's just inflammation, but i wouldn't worry too much. mine are never blotchy though. just really really big...like a golf ball, and somewhat sore. hell, right now, my left shoulder has one. it sucks, but it should get better. get on about a gram of motrin (an anti-inflammatory) a day...that helps. if youdon't have the prescription around, just buy a bunch of ibuprofen (which is motrin), and take around 600 to 1200 mg's per day. that should take some of the inflammatoin away.

one more thing...my shoulders immediately inflame...so i know it's not an abcess. if, however, such a golf ball appears 2-4 days after the injection, then it's a good chance that it's an abcess brooding bacteria. in that case, get some tetracycline. you don't need to go to a doc and say that you have an abcess from steroid injection...if you want, you can just go to a dermatologist, and tell him you have acne problems, and he'll prescribe you tetracycline or minocycline, which the antibiotics you would end up with anyway, even if you told him you had an abcess. this is a little trick that works if you're still under your parents insurance plan, and wish to keep your AS use out of their knowledge. dermatologists we'll prescribe you shit even if you're acne isn't bad...at least, they did for me.

He prolly went through a vein and also got near a nerve cluster, poor bugger. Remember when my arm turned black from that tri shot. The fucking bruise appeared overnight and it was kinda sore and warm to the touch too.

Get him to a doc. Better safe than sorry. Just tell the doc he was injecting B-12.
