If you could workout with anyone on here, who would you choose?

For us it's 1%.
I usually increase weight from 10 to 25lbs between sets. But for legs as much as 90lbs between sets.

but that's the whole point of fractionals and 2.5's. Adding 5 lbs or 2.5 lbs to your max is a new max...it could even mean a record to a competing PLer. It's also progression. And progression is what bodybuilding is all about.

I do it by increasing reps. When I get up to 10 reps at a certain weight I know to increase my max by 10-20lbs.
It works for me.

I feel that way too, but with 45's.

I didn't know the little weights fit on the Olympic bars. I'll have to test that out next time I'm in the gym.

its a pretty common method of progression...I mean if you've had some time off or something and are returning to the gym, by all means make big leaps until you're close to where you left off but the 5lb added to max each time you do the lift is sort of the norm.

increasing reps and maybe even a whole nother set is another method but not the preferred method

I'm sure all the world record holders rep their max like 10 times before they try a new max though. Fact!

LOL! I was pretty sure you weren't talking about maxes, but I was. So it's like we're speaking two different languages. I'm talking about adding 2.5-5lbs to a max and you're talking about being able to rep it 10 times so you can add 10 lbs to your max. I'm like WTF?

If I max incline 315. So say in a few weeks I can do 275 10 times where I am have been progressing from 4 to 6 to 7 etc. once I can do 10 then I feel comfortable in increasing my max to either 325 or 335.
At my age I can't max lift every time and I have to do high reps because I am an old fucker.
So the adding 2.5lbs per side every time i lift is too much for my old ass joints. So what works for most doesn't mean it works for all. As you get older you just can't lift like a kid. I can't afford to have a rotator cuff tear.
 
Now I know why no one wants to work out with me. I work out incorrectly.
