Ideas for meals/

Hi all;

I'm "trying" to do the CKD program but I dont know what I can eat for the six meals.

Something portable, little or no preparation required. No cottage cheese please :-) Not really fond of veggied either.

I know some people have protein bars, but which ones are the lowest in carbs but still taste like food?

Also which protein shakes do you recommend?

just so tired of thinking about what to eat all the time...

thank you

Every weekend I take a few hours and cook the weekly meals for myself and my boyfriend, who are both on a diet/workout program. I do this so that I won't be tempted to grab something quick and unhealthy. I usually pull out the Forman grill and cook up a large package of chicken breasts & lean pork cutlets. This weekend I roasted a large turkey breast in the oven so that we've have sandwich meat or just something to grab and snack on. And I boil a dozen eggs that we use in salads and eat as snacks. Other ideas to make ahead:

Low Carb Tortillas wrapped around turkey slice and cheese or same wrapped in lettuce leaf

Tomato stuffed with a tuna, cucumber & feta cheese mix

Mushroom caps stuffed with crab meat mixed with a little mayo - not much

Low carb yogurt cups - the vanilla is especially good

Buy a protien shake cup from GNC. Throw a scoop of protien powder in it and add water when it's time to drink.

Don't know if you can eat fruit or not - but I always keep apples and grapefruit handy.

Protein:
I use NitroTech (for many reasons :) ) and I like it a lot. Even if I didn't "have" to use it, I would like it. The taste is simple, not too chalky, too fake, or overpowering. Easy to drink slowly or to chug quick. I would DIE without the RTDs (Ready To Drink). Vanilla is my favorite.

Meals.....
A Wrap....easy to eat while driving, in class, etc. Get Low-Carb Tortillas (La Tortilla Factory is good) and put sliced chicken, lettuce, avacado, tomato and a tiny-tiny bit of dressing. YUM.

On CKD you will need to get used to veggies, won't you? I imagine without veggies, on CKD, you would get pretty "stopped up" lol......
