I Think my SixPack is getting too Bulky?

Ive started doing my crunches with ankel & wrist wights on them and have been in the habit of doing Abs along with other exercises then drinking a Post Workout protein Shake. I have had nice definition on my Abs but am noticing that the undividual muscles themselves are getting a bit too big and not looking as good/defined.

Can anyone help me out?

I guess I want them smaller and more ripped, my BF is well under 10% im pretty sure, and like I said, I have had a great sixer for the last several months so it seems there just too big n strong?

HANSEL

Your abs have respectable size and strength, good!

Some people will say that abs are abs and bigger abs are better abs and that you cannot define or "Carve" the edges between the blocks, only low fat will bring them out etc. but what they do not realize is that training abs with heavy weight primarely hits the deep fibers in the muscle bellies while you need to tackle some surface fibres to "get an edge"

Start with bodyweight only exercises using a very controlled
form:

- hanging leg raise (medium tempo, good form, try not to swing)
- reverse crunch on incline bench (sloooow tempo avoid momentum)
- crunch (hold contraction for 3 seconds)

Use rest pause style for these exercises, meaning that you just take 10 seconds rest to allow some lactic acid to flow away, now go at it again for another two times. This counts as one set. Now take your minute rest.

Finish this workout by doing some triple drop sets on a crunch machine (8-6 reps)

and some broomstick twist for 10 minutes

3 times a week should be enough especially if you have already built the abs to a decent size already. In fact it might happen that the deep fibres shrink somewhat due to less overload but you will get some more refined abs back for it....

On the other side you will see people that do endless sets and reps of crunches and you can see they have abs from the front but no thickness viewed from the side and no deep interconnection .

These people should should definately include some heavy weights to make them lumps of bread rise, like roman chais situps with plates acrosas their chest.

What i like to do is :

session 1:
- start with bodyweight only abs exercises
- finish with weights abs exercises

session 2:
- start with weights abs exercises
- finish with bodyweight only abs exercises

stop complaining... Im bulking right now and what you use to be my nice six pack is now covered up by a mini keg.. Be happy you can see them alot of people cant.. lol
