How strong am I?

I joined a new gym recently and have started body building properly.
I have been doing the flex magazine 2001 space odyssey program for about 6 weeks now, this program introduced me to the deadlift excersise. I have progressed quite well in the deadlift excersise and enjoy it. Two days ago I thought I would do a 1 rep max lift to see how much I could do, I managed to lift 330lb (including bar) I am 23 and weigh 160 lb is this a good lift for my weight, do I have potential?

p.s I dont take any drugs or supplements

330 is good for a new deadlifter at your weight. You can go up much more though. If you want to get strong you will need to stop reading Flex and get PowerMag and PLUSA. Most of Flex's routines are for "flex'rs" If you wanna flex and pose it is good if you are wanting to become a monster and tear up some big weight you need to shop elsewhere.

Like I said though 330 is pretty good for a new deadlifter, but if you worked at it I think you could add a 100+ pounds and stay in the 165 class. Good luck.

That depends on your weight class, the level of competition, an who you ask. 165 novice men is breaking the 2-2.5 bw. 165 world class would be something like 4 times your bw.

Tony Caprari did 705 weighing 170 at WABDL Worlds last year and he was about 20 at the time. He is a VERY elite deadlifter though.

Gary Heisey holds the all-time record at 925 I think......he was something like 6'6.
