How much should I Squat?

Can you please post your Bench-Deadlift-Squat

I have included Squats into my training regime, replacing leg presses. After doing leg presses for several years I noticed that my legs got stronger but not bigger.

Using your weights I should gain some idea of how much I should be squatting in relation to my bench and deadlifts. I know my squat sucks but I have only done it once so far. My leg presses were really strong, so hopefully I will see a good conversion of power from leg presses into squats.

Currently my lifts are:

Bench: 315lbs x 6
Deadlift: 495lbs x 1
Squat: 225lbs x 10

Please help guys.

I really wish there was some carry over between leg press and squat, but so far, for me, there's not. I can leg press 9 each side for 4-6, and have done 7 each side for 50....yet I only squat 320. My squat is a constant work in progress. A boil on my butt.

Bench is 199, with shirt 243
Deadlift 353, max was 397 (changed to sumo, numbers have taken an temporary dive).

These are gym lifts, BTW. So take it for what it's worth.

Do you have pics or videos of your squat? What's your form like? Where do you stall?

I have been told the same thing on the non-transfer of power from the leg press to squats. I haven't done leg press in about 2 years. I have though added front squats and that seems to help in size/definition.

Priscilla, I mentioned this on a thread the other day. My front squat isn't much less than my regular squat (like less than 50 pounds). I'm trying to figure out what that should mean to me in terms of strengths/weaknesses, and how I might be able to alter squat form to take advantage of the strengths. I also like the front squats for building core strength.

Not sure how the two relate. I am horrible at fronts, don't really like them. I just moved up to 185x8x3. (I know, pretty sad), but of course my regular squats surpass that buy 200++ pounds.

I guess it really depends on what your main focus is on. Mine is obviously the core lifts, squat, bench, deadlift for competition.

Do you still follow the split that's on your site? And what accessory work do you feel like you get the most carry-over from?

Yep

Yes, I still follow what I have on my site. I still get the best results in strength from the basic lifts. Accessories to me just seem to do the fine tuning the balance of the muscles.

I notice you have a light bench and heavy bench day, but you don't do that for squat and dead...just wondering why you decided on that. Also, do you do any speed work?
