How many sets of ME lifts?

For the WSB folks, when you do your ME GMs, squats, and bench, about how many sets of 3 and how many sets of 1 do you do?

I've been doing about 6 sets of 3 and 1 or 2 singles lately (for legs) and that feels about right. On bench I do about 5 sets of 3 and rarely do singles.

That depends on your previous PR. For example if I were doing GM's and my old PR was 400 X 3...the progression would be:

Bar X 5
135 X 5
185 X 3
225 X 3
275 X 3
315 X 3
365 X 3
405 X 3

I try to do the GM's a max triple...seems to work better for me like that.

Now if it was a bench move and the old PR was 300 the progression would look much the same...

Bar X 5
95 X 5
135 X 3
185 X 3
225 X 1
275 X 1
305 X 1

Deciding when to drop from triples to single really depends on the lifter. When triples start to get heavy drop to singles and work up to a new PR.
