How many protein can your body digest ?

.... 2 lbs per month lean muscle gain?

I think everyone on this board can agree that is almost impossible... when was the last time Layne added 2lbs per month of muscle? Maybe he means up to a point?

I mean shit, Jay Cutler would be lucky to add 5lbs between the 07 and 08 olympia and that is WITH a research lab full of bodybuilding drugs

I did as a noob. I gained an insane amount of strength and muscle size when I started. I went up 15 lbs in 6 weeks, my bench weight went up 50 lbs for reps and other according excercises. My chest, shoulders, lats and traps all gained significant size in 6 weeks. And it was mostly muscle, I can guarantee that. Traps don't get thicker and taller and more defined by fat. When a shirt seems to shrink in the sleeves while gaining definition (dropped 3%bf) that is muscle. Newbs can gain an insane amount of muscle when dieting and excersising properly.

Of course, this is newbie gains as muscles seem to respond in a completely differeny capcity when new to weight lifting.

I seem to gain about 1lb a month solid these days. It's slow, but it's making it's way. Now that I can squat and deadlift again, my body weight has increased 7 lbs in the last 5 weeks, and my quads are 1.5" bigger around, and my middle back is thicker, all while gaining definition, very noticably around the waste. My BF has dropped noticably, probably 1% (i'm at around 11-12% so a drop of 1-2% is huge difference in definition). But, those gains are seeming to be much less dramatic than the first 3 weeks were. Again, the newbie gains apply here.

noob size and strength gains go through the roof. which is one reason noobs should work out naturally before using aas, because they will make aas-like gains.

Well my question is how many protein can your body digest in one meal?

I would guess between 50-100grams depending on the person

It was theoretical stuff, what would be possible if everything was perfect, which of course, it never is.

I agree with that as a baseline.

I also posted about this earlier... but I am hard pressed to believe most Anyone on this board is consistently eating 2 grams protein per lb/bw. If we use the example of a 200lb'er, that is 400 grams (1600 calories) of ONLY protein... or 8 meals at 50 grams per sitting... which would be circa 7oz COOKED chicken or 2 full scoops protein, 8 times per day.

Toss your carbs and Good fats in there, and you've got a TON of food.

In addition, that much protein requires Substantial increases in water intake... minimal water intake with maximum protein intake= very unhappy kidneys.

I would challenge anyone to keep a fitday journal for 7 days and see how close they get to that number, on average for 7 days. The actual number you get will probably surprise you.

Hi! 220lbs here, consuming 450-500+ grams of protein a day. :) Yes, I drink a lot of water. Yes, it is a ton of food. Go ask Wulfgar in his "Dutchbags..." thread over in C&C about how much protein he's consuming a day (650-800 grams). He's a 270 lb'er.

Totally possible bro. :)
