how many members can rep 225 on bench press for 40 reps

That's a lot of Sets!

Damn, and reps! I'm talking overall in the sets! Are you posting a pic of your chest? My best friend just won the Lt Hvy@ the USA's, and he preaches the opposite.....interested to see what kind of look that type of training really gives........tough to earn respect out there, huh? Shit, has Titus won anything? :) Mr O resides out in this part of the country....workouts here.........People are into their own workouts here....to be thinking about respect.....I hardly acknowledge people, thinking about my next rep, next set. If someone has bad shoulders/rotator cuffs they should never be doing flat benches or most barbell exercises either unless they are going to get connective tissue clearing.myofascial massage,ect.
Heavier dumbell work and work on a swiss ball would help alot more.
I dont like the high reps idea but if it suits someone then go for it-alot of people dont get much from flat bench barbell presses b/c they dont do the exercise right or aren't built for it -shitty leverage( like me)- I never tried more than 315 on a flat or incline yet have dont inclines with 150's for 8, and 160's for 5's on dumbell incline or 65cm swiss ball.
It makes no sense but thats the truth
 
How many times you can do 225 is how NFL scouts judge a players strength. I remember having arguments with my friend after the rookie camps when one of my favorite players would out-bench one of his. Then it comes down to some of these guys not being able to do shit- some wideouts and backs being able to do more than some lineman, etc.

Some say it's worthless and some say squats would be more accurate. I go with the latter. The guy from Dallas who can bench 700 or whatever doesn't have the ability to just keep knocking guys over because he has that good of a bench. He also isn't as good as Ogden or Boselli and Boselli has been known to admit that he isn't that strong.

Just something off topic to debate about ;)

Also, is it easier to rip a pec doing 500 for 1 or 225 for 60? Bryce Paup was only doing 225 when his pec ripped.
 
U forget about the height issue if you are short with short arm you can do lots more than if you are tall with looong arms :confused:
