How long do you try a new training program for before you bail?

I posted something similar on the diet board, and I have this same problem with training programs... I always try new routines, and then feel that I'm not getting the results that I was aiming for, and end giving up on it in like 1 week or so? Do y'all think this is enough time to gauge the efficacy of a program, or am I just being impatient? How long do ya'll wait before bailing? Thanks.

With every program, you must have goals and know EXACTLY why this program will help you reach your goals. You should also know when to expect what goals in your program...and be reasonable about it.

Don't just pick a program and believe that it is going to make you this or that...know WHY it does that. This is the reason I believe in the WSB methods...time and time again...it has made people bigger and stronger. Science has proven it...and so have the WSB guys and gals.
