How fast can you lose what you've gained?

Seems like after a month or two of good gains, i lose them very fast, almost seems like a few days..what is the science behind this?

This is more something you may have to answer. Are you still training at the time of the losses...is your diet adequate(at least maintenance), much more info is needed.

The only thing that really comes and goes that quickly is water weight fluctuations. Many times these "gains" are mistaken for muscle.

It is also my experience over the years that folks tend to think they have more muscle than they really do, and are shocked when dieting down. We all have partitioning factors genetically "uned" and no matter how much food you eat does in no way mean more muscle.

do you mean after a cycle with good gains. Like your PCT is not on point? Or just generally speaking - it would have to relate to diet more then anything. whenever you eat less calls than you burning you will loose weight, both fat & muscle.
if you had a few months of good gains you body has more muscle and will need more calories to keep it on. so up the protein as you grow!
