How do you feel about make up? lipstick, foundation, eye liner, fake lashes, the works

Do you think they enhance nicely, do you hate the stickiness of lipstick, do you displike makeup cuz you cant touch the girl's face, discuss :coffee:

Depends on how its applied. The girls working the mac counter always look like clowns with so much make up on.

The perfect woman has the skills to apply makeup appropriate for all situations but isn't so shallow she needs 40 minutes to do her face every day.

Flea market on a Sunday afternoon - skip the makeup, go ponytail and ballcap and let's get out the fuckin' door.

Christmas party with my co-workers - Do your hair, smokey eyes, tasteful lipstick, foundation, and rouge and let's show you off.

Just the two of us with a night of wild sex looming - Darl eyeliner, blood red lips, slutty eyeshadow, and dark rouge and we'll pretend you're a pussycat doll.

Your descriptions of rouge make me feel like you're a Bronte sister writing about some harlot.

Kathy, it's Heathcliff. Why don't you come in the window?

If all else perished, and nydj remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger: I should not seem a part of it.

Guess I'm too high maintenance. Lol. I would have to do tinted moisturizer, a little mascara and lip gloss. No hat, but ponytail.

Girls that wear a lot of makeup I'm not attracted to. At all.

Yep it needs to be right for the situation. I love makeup but I don't wear it to the gym. I don't wear it if I am just bumming about in sweats I rock the ball cap and pony tail.

No offence to the men but makeup shouldn't be about them it should be about you. If just a little mascara makes you feel good then that's all you need to rock. It's about making yourself feel good cause when you feel good you look good you have a confidance about you.

I haven't any reason to wear makeup in a cpl of months :(

even a quick stop to see a friend at the bar wasn't occasion to wear any
little local bar, a quick drink...no reason for it

I love purchasing and applying makeup. To me, it is just part of being feminine I guess. I don't think I ever get too overboard with it though. I never wear lipstick. I have never found a shade that I like. I only wear lip gloss. I do wear eyeliner on most days though if I'm running late that is the thing I'll skip. It takes less than 5 minutes for me to apply makeup in the morning for work; 10 for a weekend evening. My hair is what takes up the majority of my time getting ready. Trying to dress casual is a chore, so I'm always trying on different stuff so that will take time. I'm usually just slightly over dressed for everything.

If you want to wear it that's reason enough in my books if you don't well then you don't

I agree. I love it too, but don't wear it to the gym or the beach, for example. I wear some to work every day, but it's done naturally, like I don't wear eyeshadow or lip color to work at all. If I'm going out at night though to some type of thing worth dressing up for, you'll see me in a little more.

Even for night time occasions, you won't really catch me in as much makeup as the MAC girls. I'm not in to makeup THAT much....my gay best friend though, that bitch wears a TON. lol

I spend way more time on hair than makeup.

I've never dated a girl that went overboard on the makeup. I've never dated a girl that went slutty on the makeup during sex, either.

Girls that wear a lot of makeup I just consider to be inferior to me. I'm naturally hot without any makeup; therefore I am better than her.

wut some girls describe as "light" or "natural" makeup = preparation to conduct a clown's master class

just sayin'

To be honest, I would never show up to work makeup free. I mean, I see someone totally makeup free and I can't help but see that as a sign of laziness (at work, and I know I shouldn't do that...I can't help but think it for a second) It takes two seconds to throw on a little mascara.

Well I don't naturally have a black line across my upper eye lid lol But that's really it. No eye shadow, no lipstick, no crazy hot pink clown cheeks.

The pics any EFers have seen of me are all pretty much in the same makeup I'd wear to work, and I think it looks pretty natural.

No makeup is a sign of laziness, and it is a turn off, not just sexually, but life in general. Would a man who goes to work in a wrinkly shirt be taken seriously? No.

I wear eyeshadow but it's light natural peaches golds or taupe for work. I will wear lipstick as well but it's mostly light sometimes I will wear a dark lip colour but then on the eyes it will just be mascara.

My hair takes the longest if I am just washing it that morning and I decide to blow it out. I only wash my hair every 2-3 days and I use dry shampoo on the other days. Florida heat and humidity is a bitch to deal with when I was there for work it was a pain in the ass.

Agreed I am trying to find an artical a read a while back about woman in the work force those that wear the right amount of makeup get further in there careers then counter parts that don't wear any at all or too much.

Yeah I agree. I work with this girl who always rolls in to work with her hair soaking wet, no makeup, stockings bunches up at the ankles (p.s. this girl is 25, so I don't know wtf is up with the stockings, but that's besides the point lol). It leaves me baffled.

Wake up 30 minutes earlier and tidy yourself up before work.

And she wonders why after being at the museum for 3 months compared to her 4 years I got the promotion over her.

Looks like I'm not alone in that thought. Lol. Professionally, considering wearing makeup is a cultural norm for women, I can't help but receive the non-verbal message that the woman is either lazy, stern, or just has a "I don't give a fvck what the world thinks" attitude. Sort of like a wrinkly shirt like you said, or an unkempt beard.

That being said, I think makeup should draw attention to the woman, not to itself.

Natural means it looks natural doesn't always mean next to no makeup. Most men can't tell when you are wearing makeup. I wear it to work every single day. However the idiots I work with only notice if I wear a brighter lip colour they are like oh you have makeup on today. No your just a dumbass I wear it every day but you just can't tell cause it's meant to look natural.

I know. :)

I didn't mean I wear only eyeliner to work, I was just saying I don't wear crazy colors. I wear makeup on my face and cheeks, sometimes lip gloss, but I hate lipstick personally...but that has to do with the feel of lipstick, not the color. I don't wear eyeshadow to work, but I have before. I don't have a problem with eyeshadow at all, I just don't have time for it on work days.

I don't like to draw attention to my lips for some reason. Weird huh? I wear lipstick and I hate the way it looks and I rub it off. It is like helllllooo look at my lips. I don't like it. Lol

I wake up at 5:20 a.m. shower and am sitting at my desk 7 miles away by 6:00 a.m.

you do the math of prep time :)

You should try the revelon lip butters they are kind of like a lipstick gloss hybrid most of the colours are pretty sheer they have like a lip balm conditioning feeling to them.

for me to wear makeup anywhere it takes four foundation steps
my skin tone is uneven as hell, I have freckles, and I have scars on both of my cheeks..
so, there is the primer , the green shit, the concealer then foundation and then setting it with powder
nevermind, eye cream and regular moisturizer after astringent

if I bother to go through all of that then there is eyeliner (if I bother because my lashes are black and my lash line is very thick) , eye shadow, mascara (love lancomes mascaras) then lip pencil and my recent favorite are those lip stain sharpies
the last little bit takes about four seconds...the prep to it is another story
If I wear blush of any kind it settles in my scars and accents them oh so nicely

to even out my skin I have had six tca peels, microdermabrasion, needling and more skin care products than probably three women combined in their lifetime
Im seriously considering having fillers done in the scars but the results can be hit or miss

so honestly...if Im just running out the door..I don't bother because I'm not fooling anyone anyway

for work, ya I always wore makeup...and everyone comments that they didn't even know I wore makeup until they saw me without it

I cant even imagine what its like to just get away with just a little eye or lip touch up

Ah I didn't know about the scares what caused them?

The last time i wore any kind of foundation was probably in the 90s. Really. I hate the way that stuff feels.

Curl the lashes, mascara and a little pressed powder is my daily look. If im going somewhere special, the a little liner on the upper lid.

Have you tried garniers bb cream? It's like a tinted moisturizer in terms of coverage but it also has vitamins in it so it's also like a day time treatment for your skin. I wear it on days when I don't feel like puting on full on foundation etc it really evens out the skin tone feels great on. My best friend who hates liquid foundation I got her to try it cause she was complaining about her skin tone being uneven she is very no fuss about makeup but she loves it she's hooked on it now.

yeah, I've considered the punch style excision for the one ice pick I have and filler for the "rolling boxcar" style craters I have under my cheek bones

I've never seen anything overwhelming impressive for the laser dermabrasion ...but I haven't looked into it in a while
one of these days

Yes, plus it usually has an SPF which I will not leave the house w/o.

You would probably love Estee Lauder Daywear Plus Sheer Tint it works with your skins natural chemistry gives a light overall bronze boost to the skin. I used it a lot last summer I didn't repurchase it cause it is a little pricey. I heard they might be discontinuing it but estee lauder also owns orgins and from what I have read origins vitazing is pretty much the same.

A lot of the north american companies are coming out with bb creams (Blemish Balm) it's a craze that started in asai most of them have a very high spf and a light coverage similar to a tinted moisturizer. But they also have other properties that in time are suppose to help even out your skin tone and brighten it as well.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot. I'm almost out of mine so it's the perfect time to buy some and I love buying beauty products. I just don't use the stuff that I buy that takes it all off at night. Lol. Still working on that...

I wear the tinted moisturizer more in the summer than any other time of year because regular foundation is too heavy, plus I think less is more when there are more hours of natural light.

Yeah I have a similar approach in the summer for sure.

Speaking of taking it off I was out of makeup remover wipes last week so on a whim I bought the walmart brand equate exfoliating cleansing towelettes best ones I have ever used. They take off all the eye makeup and no sting either!

Are the towlettes textured? I'm curious. I've never tried those ones, but all the towlettes I've tried feel too rough for the skin around the eye. If they weren't, I'd try them.

I use olive oil to take off eye makeup. I obv don't use it on my face, because I'd feel gross but a cotton ball + a little oil and it's off in one gentle swipe. Then I just rinse with water and pat with a towel. Plus, it's good for the skin around your eye, which is often dry and very thin.

Taking eye makeup off is tricky bc the skin around the eye is so delicate, it's easy to cause wrinkles rubbing it every day. I refuse to use anything that requires me to apply pressure or rub more than once or twice

Yes they are textured but very soft I haven't tried them with very heavy eye makeup on yet to be honest. I agree about the tugging around the eyes.

Typically if I have really heavy eye makeup on I will take a round drench it in bioderma then place it on my closed eye and hold it there for 30 or so seconds not rubbing just holding to break up the makeup then it wipes off easy after that.

I have used oils in the past around my eyes the thing I find is that they leave a film. When you apply your makeup the next day the mascara etc doesn't stick as well start slipping off cause the eyelashes still have trace amounts of oil on them. Nothing worse then raccon eyes from mascara.

Hmmm. Maybe I'll try em. I'd been thinking about it.

That's never happened to me with the oil, though, and sometimes I'm applying makeup immediately after.

This is why makeup and hair product recommendations seem useless to me sometimes. Stuff almost never works the same for 2 people, I've noticed.

Yeah it really depends a lot comes down to skin type I am oil combo skin so I would say most of what works on me should work on people with similar skin types.

Age is also a factor as well as skin changes as we age I couldn't use most mostrizers in my early 20's they would break me out as my skin was fairly oil already. Now in the winter at night I can use some pretty heavy night creams. As the summer comes I need to lighten up though as my skin starts to produce more oil again.

I like a make up whore, doesn't bother me at all, love it.. :stilleto:

with that said, she better not be ugly without it.. tom boyish and a great laugh..

pure jojoba oil for skin=pure awesomeness

doesn't leave a film, doesn't hurt if it gets in your eyes, cleans out pores

Yeah I think that is what my mom uses or did she was on an all natural kick for a while when it came to her skin care. I have been meaning to try it I just end up purchasing something at the drug store when I run out and forget to try it.

ya, its works well to remove eye makeup and really dissipates nicely on your skin

its a close match to sebum so it doesn't clog pores

She needs to look good without it, the end.

Interesting stuff here, personally I dont wear a drop of make up due to various reasons, one is that my husband doesnt like it much, says I have pretty skin ^_^ two is that it's usually too damn hot in FL and it melts right off, even the water proof stuff, three I'm not great at applying it since it was very expensive in CR so I take a bit of time and four is the biggest real reason: I cant see :( I've tried using those 18x mirrored make up lights and I can do some but not eyes, specially not eyeliner, I used to ALWAYS use eyeliner but now it's just impossible to apply :worried:

Another thing is that I'm terrified of putting stuff in my eyes since I touch them so much due to the Keratoconus, dont wanna cause more damage, oh and I've been told my lashes go for miles anyway, lol :qt:

no...thats the second time you've mentioned it too...i think you've got me confused with nan
I'm never alone, lol hubby is there every breathing second, even works in the same place with the same schedule :D

My ex gf, hot as fuck tho, but a bitch, bought 50 dollar lip gloss, butt pads, and fake eyelashes. Ever since that day I fucking hate make up, maybe a little is fine but dont cake your face with it, get some self esteem. Bitches want their rights, like the womens rights movements, but they arent in a position to go out there in the world because they are too emotional with baggage and then the tears come out and ruin there make up which makes them look even more pathetic. Go back in the house where you belong, and you wont need make up
