just wondering when all of you think the ideal time is to start juicing. when do u know you've reached or are close to reaching you're genetic potential?

i started using before i reached my genetic potential i know. i started when i knew i had enough discipline to stick to my diet, go to the gym consistently, and have decent form when i lift. i know that i could have improved a lot before i started, but i really wanted to see the results of my effort faster (and feel better about myself). i think i tend to hold back questions from this board related to my cycle because i know there are people who've gone far beyond me by having trained longer and harder by being more disciplined (uh um... spatts:) ).

Its a personal choice and depends on your goals and the risks vs. rewards that you are will to take. In the ideal situation you would wait until you have hit your "genetic potential" and have stalled out and exhausted every other option but you still want "more". AS isn't the "obvious" next step for everyone. In the ideal case, actually it may be that the only time you ever actually reach your genetic potential is the day you are no longer the planet because your body is always changing and there is no prescription for the list of other options.

I think what is generally recommended on this board is for people to at least honestly evaluate their goals before diving into the "dark side". Ultimately its up to the person to take the risk, responsibility and rewards. The other is to deal honestly w/ the temptation to get quicker results.

:D
I'm glad to hear that. I've always heard that women simply *can't* get HUGE b/c of lack of testerone... but I keep growing! I get stronger & my muscles bet bigger at least every month. I'm very intrigued at the thought of how I'll look & how strong I'll be in another year.

I'm sure eventually I'll stop seeing *significant* mass gains... and then I'll start incorporating other techniques to break strength plateaus, etc. But it is truely fascinating to me to see what I'm capable of!

when you are longer able to stretch your arm across your pecs to put your seat belt on in your car.. damn i hate that

haha... guess i have a ways to go yet ;)

sassy, i'm hearing ya... for me the risk has been well worth it because i needed to get myself to the point where i feel good about myself faster. not like i've ever been grossly out of shape or anything, but since i'm a bit of a perfectionist i simply couldn't stand feeling like i was 2nd best... needed the reward of improved self esteem and confidence... just didn't want to go thru my life comparing my body to others anymore... so much nicer to be able to appreciate everyone else when you feel good about the way you are and look.
