How Bad Is Fast Food?

I am in great shape however i think i am cutting my gains in half by eating fast food once a day. I have cut back a lot, i used to eat fast food about 2-3 times a day. But i just cant seem to stay away, i am as addicted as can be. I eat healthy all day and then blow it by eating fast food. So how bad is it? I am not trying to lose weight, im trying to bulk up. I am being serious here, If it is bad does anybody have an idea to keep me away from the drive thru. thanks in advance

I have been hearing a tremendous amount of negative research concerning hydrogenated oils used in fast food. Also, the oil they cook in tends to get more carcenogenic as it used. I am a recovering fast food junkie and still feel the cravings every time I pass by a McDonalds.

Define "fast food".

If you mean McDonalds and all that crap, then yes, you are severely hindering your gains, unless you have super-high metabolism and desperately need to bulk.

Even then, there are still much better ways to go about doing so.

Very bad

Between the TRANS FAT, HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP and the copious amounts of SODIUM, it's a major factor why the Americans are becoming obese, in general. There is a great book you should read and after reading it, I'll be DAMNED if you continue to frequent your fast food joints...It's called "Fast Food Nation"

When I'm bulking, I have the attitude that if it doesn't bite me first, it's gonna get eaten. As long as you are getting all of your protein in and you're not eating junk in place of it, you are fine. You may gain more fat than if you left it out of your diet, you can worry about that when you cut. Eat it in addition to your required amount of protein and not instead of it and you won't hinder your gains.

just visit McDonalds website, and you'll see... They put trans fats in everything from their grilled chicken, to their bread.

Wendy's Chilli, maybe pretty good, I'm not sure though. Has 5g of fat.

Arby's Big montana has 32 grams of fat in it- I'm not sure where it comes from or if it is hydrogenated.

If it's fast food you want, I would choose Blimpie or Subway, and double the meat.
