Honey and Milk...

Lift Chief

Hey peeps- what is the concensus regarding honey and milk on a cutting diet? Honey i put a little bit on my oatmeal in the morning. I seem to remember reading that honey, as far as a sweetner goes, is one of the better ones to use. Milk is pretty much just what i mix my 3 protein shakes each day with, but it ends up that i'm drinking quite a bit of milk a day.

I would drop the milk and use water Bro if cutting, As for the Honey. I would say thats ok, I sprinkle a small amount of sugar on my oats just to give them some taste. I used to drink milk, Infact to much milk and Ive noticed a difference by dropping it.

I used to drink about a liter milk a day... then I dropped... NOw I drink about 1 liter every 4 days, which is OK with me.

whatever you do, NEVER use milk in your Post workout shake, it will only slow the digestion of the protein...

about honey... it's a taste thing, if you get paranoic, get some splenda or natreen... after a while you won't notice...

Dose that go the same for soy milk post workout?,

Ive been trying to switch over to soy milk (with pwo shake) to avoid the 12gms of sugar per serving in skim milk, but the soy has 3.5gms of fat per serving!!!

Dam, is that rite? I have had milk on my post-workout shakes forever, no wonder I aint growin!. I have been using 2 cups milk, banana and proterin powder for my post-workout shake.....what do you use instead of milk? just plain water? I try to keep the post-workout shake between 350-450 cals, I dont think water alone will cut it......

Yah, I would ditch the milk and the banana too. Fructose isn't quite the sort of sugar you're looking for in the time immediately following heavy lifting.

While I have used milk post-workout successfully when leaning out....when trying to gain mass I definitely favor water and dextrose. But as with all diet advice, do whatever works well for you.

You need simple sugars in your pwo. Although lactose(milk sugar) is a simple sugar, it does nothing to replenish muscle gycogen. And also with milk there is the fat issue. You positively do not take in any fats in your pwo, as well as, in your pwo meal as insulin levels are still high. The fastest digesting simple sugar is dextrose. Mix dex with your whey in a 2:1 ratio. 100g dex: 50g whey. This combo should be mixed with 8-10 ounces of water.

Is this true? I thought milk was important post work out as it could very well serve as your carbohydrate serving. Now I'm confused.
