high reps

I know everyone thinks that using low reps is the best way to go. Im curious to know what you all think about 15 to 20 rep working set. My personal opinion is that it may not get you super huge but it will make u strong. Any thoughts?

As opposed to doing nothing? Of course it will make you stronger. As opposed to lifting heavier weight for fewer reps, it won't work as well.

If you are using decent weight it might make you strong. But I think if you are looking for being tone it will do fine.

I do think that this might be good to throw in to change up your routine. You might be able to blast your muscles by doing 21's, reps until failure, or something along that line.

IMO if those 15-20 reps are the total amount of a drop set, your good to go. But if you do one weight for 15-20 reps it will be way too light for growth.

I totally disagree. Higher reps would be better for muscle hypertrophy rather than strength. Do you think it's by accident that powerlifters rep out in the 3-6 range?

Personally, I find most high rep sets (over 10 reps) to be next to useless. However, I find high rep squats to be somewhat effective. Again, let me emphasize, this is what works for me, and not necessarily for everyone/anyone else.

And the rep debate continues...

I read somewhere, i think it was on AST, not sure, that stated that higher reps were useless towards building muscle and it increased estrogen by a lot, versus big weight lower reps.

when I said lift big I meant big as in heavy weight low reps. I personally like 4 sets of 5 or 6. But I also think diamonddiceclay is right on with the light weight high reps for the legs.
