Post up a Ozzfest review when you get a chance.
It was ungodly hot and humid all fucking day. Within a couple hours I had a pounding headache and just wanted to go lie down somewhere. Haha.
Bands I saw:
Gizmachi: Decent. Generic, but decent. I liked the mix of clean/screamy vox.
Soilwork: Quite good. Only played stuff from Stabbing the Drama and Natty Born Chaos though. Better band to see in a club than on a festival.
It Dies Today: Awful. Someone tell the singer that he doesn't need to rival Dani Filth in the "most facial makeup" department.
Trivium: Clean vocals sounded bad. Matt must have been having an off day or something. Musicianship was top notch though.
As I Lay Dying: Not bad, but got old pretty quickly. Some of the new stuff sounded pretty good though.
Killswitch: Good, but they need to learn to build a new setlist. I've seen them like 5 times, and each time, they played the same 8 fucking songs.
BLS: Excellent. New stuff sounded terrific.
Shadows Fall: Terrific as always.
Mudvayne: Nothing new. Another band that needs to change up their set. Sounded tight though.
Iron Maiden: Incredible. Worth my $40 alone.
I arrived at 10:00 am, missing The Haunted (WTF? How are you going to put them first?!), Bury Your Dead, and Wicked Wisdom (Thank God). The other second stage acts I missed were because I needed to eat, or drink water. It's all good though. I didn't need to see A Dozen Furies or Rob Zombie. Arch Enemy didn't show up, due to a broken down bus. That kinda pissed me off, but oh well.
