Having trouble with glute/ham raises from floor

Lumberg

New member
OK you know how there are two tendons/ligaments at the bottom of each hamstring? Well the inner one of my left ham hurts like a bitch whenever I try to do these. (I just started about a week ago)

I tried them on the leg curl machine at the gym with the full stack and it was enough to support my body and they felt much better.

Also when soneone holds my ankles it feels better than when my feet are wedge under somethign immovable.

Any suggestions? I don't always have a partner or a leg curl machine around.

haven't tried the loaded barbell yet.

I was using the tree I have and wedging my feet under the 45# plates.

at work when it hurt I was trying to use an exercise bike.

I think it might have something to do with when my toes are pointed away versus being perpendicular. (toes pointed away=hurts)

Lat pull down machine?

Sweet idea broly!!!

I can only imagine what the denizens of my gym would think of that!!!!! At least on the leg curl machine it kinda makes sense.

My hams are nice and sore in places they're never been sore before from doin gthem on the leg curl machine though. I think because your legs are in a slightly declined position it makes it easier...which is good when you are starting out.

Also my current plan has me doing these 2x/week. Once in the gym (where I can use either machine mentioned) and once at home, where I squat. Any suggestions for at home besides a loaded barbell?
