green tea and high blood pressure

I started experiencing some type of high blood pressure and tachycardia after a few weeks of taking green tea, I would like to know if it's the tea causing this effects or a I might have something else

tea and coffee are touted for their health benefits but in reality they really aren't that good for you. yeah i'm sure I am in the 5% minority on that but the same goes for spices like onions and garlic (both touted but actually toxic).

the green tea probably is providing you enough caffeine to cause your issues.. so simply stop drinking it

You don't say how much you was consuming. Green tea does, as Steve says, contain caffeine. 400mg a day is the upper recommended daily dose. 1000mg can and has caused medical issues of the type you describe.

In one well publicized (here) example a well-known online supplement company had their name in the national press after a young idiot took a teaspoonful of caffeine at a party while drunk. That's 5000mg!! He was very lucky. Probably, cos he was young.
