How many grams of protein would I consume per meal till it becomes unnecessary?? 30g, any set amount?? I'm 5'4" female.....

There has been much debate on that subject. Some say anymore than 50g is a waist. IMO there is no set amount that your body can handle at one time, to many variables.

for general reference, anything over 1.5 grams of protein/day per pound of bodyweight is probably a waste of time/energy/money, especially if you don't use steroids

Go generally anything for my bodyweight (135) over 202.5g of protein per day is needless.....not juicing....female.....35 (July)....

But, what about per meal?? If I have 6 meals should I worry about not exceeding 34g per meal or 29g per meal if I have 7 meals......

just wondering what the dealio was per meal (threshold of protein injestion) or are there too many variables that it's unknown??

I normally consume equal amounts of protein per meal except for the first two meals after my workout which have ~25% more protein than normal each.

I've read on other boards that it something like 30g per meal. I doubt this can be generalised to all people, especially bodybuilders whose bodies need it more.

if you aren't bodybuilding, you don't need 30 grams per meal, that's for sure.

the 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight is for bodybuilders.

I kind of wonder if grams per pound should be based on LBM?

As I said as per meal there is no amout that should be considered to much protien.

torn,
grams per lb should be based on desired lbm according to americian muscle and fitness personal training manuel. I myself just use 1.5-2x body weight to determine my protien intake when bulking. My current diet now has 475 grams of protien. I weigh 251 with a LBM of 226.
Hope that helps.

yeah I just use bodyweight to err of the side of caution

if you have a very high bodyfat percentage though, that may be overkill and you should go more by LBM
