Got buried by 365 yesterday :)

I went heavy yesterday - just wanted to get a feel for 365lbs in my full oly style squat. Got buried, but when I do a proper maxout in 2 weeks time, with a proper taper and fully fresh I will have it ;)

workout went like this

Hang Power Cleans

135x3, 155 x 3, 165x3, 175x2
185lbs 4 singles - 30 secs rest between each
195 x miss
165 x 3


Full Olympic Squat- No belt

Warmup sets - 45lbsx10, 95x5, 135x4, 185x3, 225x3, 255x3

295x1 - did one squat jump before it, flew up!
335x1 - not too hard at all - went up fast
365xMiss - stuck at sticking point dumped into pins.
295x3 - was going off balance while locked out - LOL
295x2 - 2nd rep had to work.

Complex - 2 mins rest between each and then 3mins rest before the next squat

255x3 then Jumpsquats 40x6
255x3 then Jumpsquats 40x6
255x3 then Jumpsquats 40x6
255x3


Bits and Peices

Powerclean 135x1, 185x1
Cleanpulls (with Straps) 225lbs 2x3
Romanian Deadlift onto toes (with straps) 225lbs 2x6
Bulgarian Squats BW 2x10
Reverse Lunge BW x 10


Core and Remedial Work

Spread eagle Reverse hypers (on hyper bench)
BW 2x12
Hanging Leg raise unit, kneeups
BW x10

good job. what do the SE reverse hypers look like? i didnt know they could be done like that. how do they feel?


turns out i use to squat olympic style before i knew PL style. those added major size to my quads
 
Well there was a guy watching me too - ugh :)

The SE Hypers feel much better than the straight legged ones. You keep your legs out like a Y.

are they done on a regular reverse hyper machine or no?

this would have better carryover into PLers squats than w/ feet closer together in reverse hypers
 
I don't have access to a hyper bench I just do these backwards on a normal hyper unit.

From feel alone, it feels freer and smoother.
 
I've crashed hardcore a few times on max squats, sucks ass but its a part of the game, it helps if you say something clever when you extricate yourself from underneath the bar...
 
LOOKS GREAT MAN...SERIOUSLY!!!!!

Watch your knees and your hips when you do the 365 and the set after that. Watch them move...you are dancing on the way down and on the way up. Hey...when you go all out...something WILL break down. Maybe it is a sign to devote a little extra time to the hips...maybe...

About the knees moving inward, it is not from weak hips. My hips are a lot stronger than my quads. I work them quite a bit atcually.
Well according to Pure Power mag, issue about the squat it said " However to move max weight you need to engage your adductors maximally, which can result in inward movement of the knees".


To be honest Bfold I don't see or feel anything majorly wrong, sure as I fatigue there is a bit of movement. I do lose the arch in my lower back here and there though.
