I use glove because I have very sweaty palms and the bench bar at my gym is worn down to shit so I start with a close grip and end up not even being able to put the bar back up on the support because my hands have slowly slipped to the ends of the bar. Yes the gym is a shitty gym and beleave it or not the do now have a way to control the hight of the support bars.
I use gloves especialy since all the bars at my gym are brand new. Those things are like new steel files. Using gloves won't kill your grip if your really concerned with your grip get one of those "eagle catcher's or plier style gripy things. BTW your hands will still callous using gloves just not tear and get all shitty.
And there is NO way in the world that chics like bloody, scabbed, shredded hands on their body. (at least not the chics I would be interested in)
If you like the feel of "cold steel" join a gun club.
In the gym I go to, the only men who wear gloves weigh 150lb, use straps and a belt on EVERYTHING, shout and scream on every rep, spend the whole time staring at the ladies who are trying to train, think isolation exercises are the only ones worth doing and wear either very short shorts or lycra and a wife-beater. Maybe its just coincidence......you have to love university gyms
