So me and gladiator agreed to do a competition consisting of :

Rep out:

315 deadlift
185 bench
135 military
225 squat

1 rep max:
1 handed deadlift (with strap, either arm)

3 rep max:
pullups with weight (bw not counted, just weight)

I know I am going to get destroyed by gladiator but I figured it would be really fun anyway:)

I'll embed the videos I took for deadlifting and military press (I just did those in a little while)

I figured I would post each part of the contest in a seperate video.
 
Deadlift: Got 315x15 reps



Military press: Got 135x9 reps



I was disappointed with the military press, was hoping for 10+ reps. But I haven't barbell military pressed in over a month. My old max was 150x5.
On deadlifts I could have gotten 315x25 if there was someone screaming in my face calling me a pussy lol:evil: I used a belt and chalk, my form went to crap so I am glad I had the belt.

Gladiator: I figure for deadlifts it is over when you take longer than 5 seconds rest between reps.

nice... not sure if this is going to be right but i think it's something to consider for deadlifts- get that ass down and arch your back more. also don't bend your arms before pulling up. That's what i noticed but maybe someone else can chime in and let me know if this is valid or not.

Yeah bro but the thing is I knew my form was going to be absolute shit! On my normal sets I arch my back quite a bit more, and I keep my arms perfectly straight, but you can see especially at the end I was so drained I kind of used a stretch reflex and jerked down then pulled lol. On having my ass lower I think that is a good thing normally but I am a taller lifter and that is the best position for me. Thanks for the advice though I always appreciate criticism.:)

yeah man i know what you mean. Nonetheless, you did a fantastic job!

While we're on the subject, i think you should focus on locking out everything simultaneously. If you watch the vid, your glutes don't lockout until after your legs are locked out.
 
You guys should do the one handed deads minus straps. It's a grip feat. Adding straps makes it kinda gay.

this is exactly what I said to tblock on his training log when he said that he used straps for them.

jdid I was excited for a competition against you what a let down :(
