Getting Rid of a Gut

Cap'n Cooke

New member
heya,

I'm pretty well toned over all, life 5x a week, and a couple months ago I really tried to get rid of my gut, and I really had no success whatsoever...

I used to weigh about 300 lbs, all fat, now down to 190 and about 13% BF. So all my skin never tightened around my stomach/torso, so all the fat kind of dropped down, and it's really quite disturbing compared to the rest of my physique. But when targeting my fat a few months ago, I'd lift 3x/wk and do intense intense cardio for 23 mins, and my gut never reduced.

So on Monday I'm starting a new routine...

o Lifting is taken care of - I'm squared with that.
o Cardio 3x/wk, same high intensity, 25 mins
o 50g of carbs/day, high protein (as much as I can get), moderate amount of healthy fats
o NYC supplement
o Yohimburn for some trimming around the edges

What am I missing? How can I tighten the skin in my stomach, as well? And if this doesn't work, I guess I'm stuck with surgery, but damnit if I ain't gonna try my ass off again.

Thanks

Buy a hometrainer and add 1 hour of medium intensity pre breakfast biking. It helps to drink 1/2 litre water beforehand and take some ECA or stack2 with a cup of coffee, drink some isotonic beverages afterwards....

Cardio and Diet are gonna be your best friends. Cardio in the A.M., at least 45 mins w/ moderate intensity, at least 3 days a week. Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies... any suggestions on how to tighten the skin in my stomach? It seriously looks all baggy and gross--the only downside of losing weight. I'd just like to be able to comfortable go around without a shirt... my pale skin I can handle.

If you lose a significant ammount of weight and as by the sound of it you have... your skin could take a while to tighten up. Give it some time... keep on doing cardio and get that body fat % even lower and over time, things will start to get nice and tight... even at 13% body fat you are going to have flab on your stomach.. if you want to look nice and tight you will have to be at 10% or less...
I know I've been cheating quite a bit lately... ehh.. almost once a day and I've kind of trapped around 11% BF... My arms and shoulders look pretty lean, but my belly looks kind of smooth and loose unless I flex my abs. You might just need to lose a bit more fat to achieve the 'tight' look. Its pretty hard to judge though without a picture or two.

No, but... I've been 190lbs for about 2 - 2 1/2 years now... it ain't moving. It's like pudge that sits at the bottom of my torso, and thankfully my pecs are big enough that a shirt kinda hands off them and doesn't press tight against my stomach.

I know when I'm sitting at 13% body fat I definitely have pudge at the bottom... so chances are its just some flab and your skin is actually how it is supposed to be... IMO
Kill 2% more fat and it should be significantly tighter
