getting kicked out of ketosis?

When you ingest too many carbs while in ketosis, or take in something like citric acid or something else that will kick you out of ketosis, how long does it take before you are kicked out. Is it like 5 minutes or an hour or more? Also how long does it take to get back in provided your muscles are already depleted of glycogen other then maybe what you just ingested.

Totally guessing here but I'd suspect once your insulin spikes your body realizes there are carbs available and you're out. As for going back in I'd say it depends on how many carbs you just ate...but once they are either burned or stored as fat you're back in ketosis...maybe 6 hours after a decent amount of carbs?

nah it seems more like 2 hours after I take 15g dextrose post workout. Although thats without ala. Today I took it but I forgot to check my piss to see how long it took to get back in. Its definitely not 6 hours though unless you at like 100g carbs maybe

well I guess...

if you have a 2400 calorie BMR, you burn about 100 cals per hour.. so if you're buring carbs.. that's 25 grams per hour so.. dr0832's estimate sounds right.
