if you haven't done full body workouts before would it be safe to say that would be a 3 day workout routine?

uhhhhhh what are you asking?

the most basic full body workout program i know is the 5x5. you train 3 times a week in that one beginning from day one.

so yes, it would be safe.
 
I was thinking about starting that or something like....
Mon chest/shoulders/tri
Tues back/bi/legs
Wed cardio
Thurs chest/shoulders/tri
Fri back/bi/legs
Off weekends

If 48 hrs rest per body part let's you grow good, them that's pretty solid. I prefer mon( chest, shoulders, tris,)
Wends( back/ biceps) Friday( legs) that lets me really hit things hard and get a full week to recover/ build. I like to hit cardio some everyday, raise the heart rate, but not really burn up a bunch of calories that are feeding my workouts, and hit the weights hard no matter what sched you like the best, it's not just when you go, it's what you do when you're there.
