They forced my company to get one. I'd gladly have passed on it, but don't have that option. They poke me with so many needles that I don't know what I've gotten shots for.
last year i skipped the shot. i flew around the holidays and came down with the flu and it was like the worst hell you can imagine.
i lost ten lbs in a week and missed five days of work. you cannot imagine how sick you get until you actually have the true influenza (not a bad cold).
i will never NOT get a flu shot again. i had mine weeks ago and i understand it is now hard to get in the face of an epidemic.
i am not convinced there will be a major outbreak. the press loves a story like a scary virus to blow out of proportion so they can get higher ratings. remember how we were all going to die of SARS?
chewy you may listen to your body but microorganisms are sneaky. they can infect you when you are stressed or not sleeping well or close to a person who is sick and contagious.
you can still catch a flu or a cold if you are healthy and not immune to that particular strain. that is why a flu shot is recommended.
I got hit with the flu last week, and it was more of a minor annoyance than really being sick. It's definately worth getting, as it helps you fight off the flu with minimal suffering in a matter of days rather than weeks.
