Flu shots. You getting one?

the shot doesnt totally protect against fujian flu, which is the bastard that is killing the children....but it does provide partial protection so it will help u get better

No such thing as an Influenza virus. The pandemic in the 1910's was just called the Influenza pandemic, thats it.

Correct in the sense there is no singular "influenza virus." The "flu" represents a classification of various viral infections that are characterized by specific symptoms.

You can read more about the 1917-1918 pandemic here;

if you really want a better understanding of influenza hit this link.

I got the flu real bad like 2 weeks before they started giving out shots st my work (we get them for free)

I think I wasn't totally recovered hwen I eventually got it cos I had a bit of a relapse/

A Flu Virus = a Rhinovirus

There are several strains and those strains undergo mutations, so developing a vaccine is almost near impossible for all.

The real culprit weas not a virus but a strain of air-surviving bacteria which normally cause pneumonia and then death in subsceptible individuals.

The influenza problem was treated with anti-biotics developed from penicillin. This obviously after the pandemic had killed 20 million people. Penicillin did not exist back then, when the pandemic broke out.

fonz i did some research on your post and must respectfully disagree on several points.

the influenza is certainly a virus on its own. there are even types a,b,and c. classic flu sypmtoms are brough on by a and b. c is more coldlike and milder,

rhinoviruses and coronaviruses cause common colds. there are almost 200 viruses, all broadly similar in their effects. (SARS may be caused by a coronavirus).

the spanish influenza pandemic in 1918.was cause by the type A virus. type A is highly unstabel and new strains constantly arise.

i am confused on your statement about penicillin. how could people infected with the flu be treated with penicillin if was not available yet? penicillin is useless against the flu virus.

Not useless against secondary infections such as pneumonias that arise from a compromised immun system.

Pneumonia is treated with broad-spectrum anti-bioctics.
