Im just starting to add fish in my diet and i have no idea what kind to buy- assume salmon but is there any certain kind to avoid or to buy? Any others besides salmon and also how do you cook yours? baked?? Thanks!

I prefer Cod, but you can eat just about any kind of fish. I either bake mine in the oven, or you can also "sautee" it in a skillet on the stove. Mmmmmm, good stuff!

You could grill it BUT make sure the grill is really hot when you put it on so it doesn't stick. Like H-O-T! It falls apart when it sticks.

ALmost all fish you can bake or broil in the over - many you can grill too. Use marinade or spices, or use a little wine .... even just plain lemon is really yummy. The amount of marinade depends on how strict you are eating. If you are not prepping for a contest, then marinade is fine. A little goes a long way.

Tilapia

Tuna Steaks - yum

Orange Roughie

Halibut

Or stick it in a foil pouch when you grill it and stick some lemon and a spice or two in there. I like lemon, red pepper, black pepper and a dash of salt. :Chef:

I prefer salmon or tilapia. Never made salmon at home, but I do bake the tilapia. Just throw a little Mrs. Dash lemon seasoning, toss it in a dish sprayed with pam and bake for 12 minutes (400 degrees, I think). It's done when it flakes up with a fork.

Tilapia grilled on a George Forman only takes a few minutes. Use light PAM cooking spray on the grill and your eating in a few minutes. We buy the frozen that come in a bag but each filet is separated in it's own shrink wrap plastic.

Tilapia tends to be the most affordable of them all -- good white fish. fish can get expensive as a staple of a diet.

my family gets those too! You can even heat them up in the microwave. Some people are picky about the way things are heated up (they think it tastes different), but i like it this way. I add a teeny bit of olive oil to tilapia and I can eat one by itself.
