That's cool too, but this let's members know that there is an award before opening the thread. Also, the system takes a lien on your Karma to pay the winner, so if you lose all your other Karma in the bookie forum before paying, you're still set. Lastly, the Karma Store charges a 10% tax on a Karma gift for Plats and 30% for non-Plats. Here, the award is taxed at 15% for non-Plats - only 5% for plats. Only Plats can create the Karma Awarded Threads.
