Fina turned out yellow....

Made a fina kit using proper instructions, but the end product is yellow, like an oil color. I am used to seeing it be an orangy color. The gunk left over in the filter was orangy-brown. Is the fina still good? What gives?

it should be fine bro. just out of curiousity, did you bake it? i did it with mine, and the final product was noticeably darker after i baked it.( i did this because i was paranoid about sterility problems......) but beforehand it should be a nice golden color. hope this helps ya......:)

peace.

The normal color of home made Fina is gold or yellowish color. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with it. You also dont need to bake it. The filter will trap any bacteria and you'll end up with a sterile product, provided that you were at least careful during the procedure. I've dreamed about making many bottles of Fina and I never baked a single one, and I never dreamed about having a single infection or any other problem.

Hope it helps,

SAF

Thanks bro's.... I used a PumpNpose kit. With 1 cartridge PLUS 37 extra pellets I had from a second cartridge I had.

WRONG.

Its a "sterile" filter, not a "sterilizing" filter.

If you did something to contaminate it, the filter will not "sterilze" it for you.

However if its clean and not contaminated, the filter, since it is sterile, will keep it sterile and all should be fine.

I know its a nit-pick point, but its important.
