Feel'n Bloaty 2

Hi, I am new to this forum and I first have to say I am glad I found it!!!!!
I also have EXTREME bloating I made the mistake of eating hummus when I knew it would do serious damage! On top of being bloated from the darn beans I have PMS and IBS with bloating, so I look like I am about 7 months pregnant, so it just makes me depressed to look in the mirror because you can see a slight view of the abs I work so hard on underneath all the bloating!
Well, enough about my gastrointestinal problems, I do have a question. I know you really cannot target train but I am having the worst time with my thighs, I work my legs but I have alot of knee pain and I do have muscle, but I have that frickin layer of fat that will not go. Should I be doing more cardio?
I work out at home so I have limited equipment. Does anyone have any exercises that they can suggest. Please. Also I read someone told the other bloaty person to drink dandelion, what and why.
THANKS

First hi trinity & welcome to the boards!

First - yes you are correct, you cannot spot-reduce. Also because women "suffer" from estrogen driven fat distribution, we tend to have higher concentrations of fat cells around our hips, butt, thighs & sometimes waist. It is triply frustrating when you can see bodyfat loss in your upper body but not as apparently in your legs/thighs. First, don't panic. You have to remember that if you've lost say 5% bodyfat, that 5% loss will be proportional across your whole body and where you have more fat cells concentrated, this will appear to be less of a loss than where you have fewer, e.g your thighs. The best thing to do is just keep plugging away at it and it will eventually start showing.

What we can do to start with is take a look at your diet & training schedule to see if we can make some tweaks that might get it more optimized. Can you post up what you eat / when / how much & your training schedule?

Regarding bloat, dandelion root is basically an OTC diuretic. It isn't rough on your system like some of the prescription diuretics are, but don't continue taking it for say more than 8-10 days. Also are you drinking lots of water, e.g. 1-2 gal / day? That will help keep your system flushed. Also do you take any fiber? That will also help get you "cleared out". Avoid any salty items and cut down on your carbs for a few days.

Yup! Let's see all the dirty details! :)

Also, include your stats......age, ht, wt, bf% if known, measurements (chest, waist, hip, thigh, if known), and any other details that might be important.....diagnosed medical issues/concerns, post-partum, etc etc...... the more details the better! It may seem like you are "burdening" use with toom any details, but honestly, it helps to paint a better picture. The more info the better!
