F22: Most Advanced Warplane Uncloaked

I first saw something about this fighter about a yr ago on Discovery. At the time, they said it could take off and land like a harrier, and was able to hover over a battlefield. But I see no mention of any such capabilities on any of these sites. Anyone know whats up?

military have exaggerated specs on planes before to seed disinformation, we did it with the harrier and the argentinians were;nt aware of its faults

Im sure its better than the F-15 and 16, but I wonder how much better, for one to beat 4 makes me think it might have been a stunt or a test where they knew it would have an advantage

I also have doubts about its radar evasion, Im sure it has a very low radar profile but dont most stealth planes constantly have to be repainted in the paint which helps deflect/absorb the radar's radio waves? Will every plane recieve this treatment? Still, if it fulfils its criteria it will give the US abig advantage in open conflicts. I" just hope its complicated nature allows it to be reliable and the Us doesnt build so many of them then that and become so reliant on tech that needs high maintainance, especially if war breaks out that requires more robust tech.

Still with this and the JSF you guys are about to take the next step up. the only thing remotely comparable is Eurofighter, and that was designed in Cold war times and has had most of the good components stripped to save on cost. I wonder what the newer Sukhoi's in development have, the Su-27 and Su-31 looked really cool, but im sure even they couldnt compete

Fantastic, now with the military having the most powerful fighter plane ever - and the US being the absolute dominant global superpower in terms of military might, maybe you won't need that stupid missile defense system?

I am sure the top brass at the pentagon would rather spend all that money on actual weapons that will actually work rather than a system that won't have a chance of being feasible until next century?

just think of all the other good stuff if we would have if we werent forced to buy grandma drugs after the 11 surgeries we already paid for. it's not like we're going to get anything in return from grandma, who only has 2-3 years left anyways, but we might as well just keep throwing more money at her.

Don't worry bro, it's compassion when Grandma expects something from you, but it's selfish when you expect something from Grandma

(Nuance nuance, the peeps who already paid into / counted on this should get some share of it etc etc.)

well when the government unveils the joint strike fighter.. then we'll have even more of an edge.. i mean.. like we dont already have one.. but still..

i dont know about pix but i saw a test footage on military.com...
